Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew revealed Marcos’ nominee for June 1987 Presidential Election

Matalik na magkaibigan sina dating Prime Minister ng Singapore na si Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) at dating pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos (FEM) dahil halos sabay silang namuno sa kanilang bansa.  Parati din silang nagkikita sa pagtitipon ng mga pangulo ng ibang bansa at nag-uusap sila sa mga plano nila sa kanilang pinamumunuan na bansa.

Ayun sa sinulat ni LKY sa kanyang libro na, “From Third Word to First: The Singapore Story (1965-2000)”, nagkita sila ni FEM sa Brunei noong February 1984 at tinanong ni LKY si FEM kung sino ang kadidato niya sa darating na 1987 Presidential Election.  Ang ni FEM ay si Prime Minister Cesar Virata.

Pero hindi natuloy ang 1987 election dahil nanawagan ang mga oposisyon kay FEM na magkaroon ng “snap election”.  At dahil naniniwala si FEM sa demokrasya, nagpatawag agad siya ng snap election noong February 1986 kung saan siya pa rin ang nanalo bilang pangulo.

    My take,america is behind all the suffering the filipinos incured! 1986 revolution is a mob ruled.america is insecure of philippine fast growing economic power during those year.
