The proposed ₱20-million witness-reward project could have helped expedite the investigation into Rene Baterbonia’s case. Unfortunately, it appears that the initiative may have created misunderstanding or sent the wrong message to Rene’s family. Whether political influence played a role remains unclear. Given these circumstances, I have decided to discontinue the project.
