The presidency of Fr. Bobby Yap, SJ has coincided with some of the darkest and most challenging moments in the history of Ateneo de Manila University. The institution’s reputation has been deeply affected by the controversy surrounding the cases of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, particularly due to concerns over how the administration responded and whether sufficient accountability measures were taken.

Questions remain: Was Fr. Bobby Yap aware of the activities and culture surrounding the Blue Eagles Band of Brothers (BEBOB)? Were proper investigations conducted into BEBOB’s practices and activities? The Ateneo community deserves transparency, accountability, and clear answers to ensure that the values of the institution are upheld.
